Melanie Waters OBE is a business leader driven by a strong belief that organisations can and should be a force for good. Her career has spanned senior roles in both the corporate and charity sectors, but a consistent thread has been her passion for purpose-led leadership and creating meaningful, lasting impact. From her early work in leagal services, operations, marketing and communications to leading major organisations, Melanie has focused on bringing people, strategy and values together to build stronger, more responsible businesses and communities.
A defining part of Melanie’s journey has been her work with the Armed Forces community. Over more than a decade, she has had the privilege of supporting wounded, injured and sick veterans and their families, including through her CEO leadership roles at The Poppy Factory and Help for Heroes. This experience has shaped her deeply, reinforcing her commitment to resilience, inclusion and long-term support for those facing life-changing challenges. She was honoured to be awarded an OBE for her services to the British Armed Forces, a recognition she sees as a reflection of the extraordinary people and communities she has worked alongside.
More recently Melanie has worked closely with purpose-driven leaders and organisations to extend her impact even further. This includes collaborating with Richard Harpin, founder of HomeServe, supporting initiatives focused on social mobility and responsible business, as well as designing programmes at The Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales. These experiences reflect a unifying theme in her career: a commitment to partnerships that create lasting, positive change—bringing together business, philanthropy and community to tackle some of society’s most pressing challenges.
